We believe that diverse viewpoints and backgrounds build stronger communities, and we’re dedicated to the inclusion of all individuals and perspectives in our planning, our thinking and in our interactions.

Mission:
- Attract and retain a diverse team of agents, employees and corporate leaders
- Meaningfully serve our many diverse communities and customers
- Provide homeownership education and services that inform, empower and inspire
- Assure equity and inclusiveness in our marketing, communications and interactions
- Participate in our communities in meaningful and authentic ways, and reflect the people who live there
Our work through the Diversity and Inclusion Team is ongoing and continues in ways felt by our agents, employees and customers. But we all know how important it is to measure progress as we continue moving forward, and we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished so far.
- Partnered with New Publica to create our Spanish website: espanol.edinarealty.com
- Organized companywide events in partnership with minority-owned small businesses to promote and celebrate our diversity and inclusion initiatives
- Offered training and education opportunities around topics like racism in real estate and unconscious bias in collaboration with NAR (National Association of Realtors), MNAR, MAAR, SPAAR and several other key organizations
- Expanded our library of agent greetings to honor and celebrate a greater number of diverse holidays and events
- Partnered with the University of Minnesota and other community stakeholders through the Just Deeds Project to remove discriminatory covenants from titles that have historically disadvantaged people of color.
- Advocated for the removal of language requiring a buyer to disclose the use of a grant or down payment assistance in the purchase of a home; such disclosure could adversely impact economically disadvantaged buyers. The Minnesota Association forms committee removed the language.
- Championed adding language around how buyers can discharge historic discriminatory restrictive covenants from purchase agreement forms in Minnesota. The Minnesota Association of REALTORS® amended the forms in August 2022.
- Sponsored Minnesota History Theatre’s production of “Not for Sale,” an original play about the local history of “Redlining,” or racial restrictive covenants, which sought to preclude ownership or occupancy of properties by residents based on their race or religion.
- Two Edina Realty agents were awarded the statewide Minnesota REALTORS “Pathways to Achievement” scholarship. Five total scholarships were awarded to help people not in Minnesota’s racial majority join the Realtor community.
- Our members and ambassadors represent our mission by serving on many state and national associations, including LGBTQ+ Alliance, MAR, MAR DEI, MNR, MNR Professional Standards Committee, SPAAR, SPAAR DEI, SPAAR Housing Affordability Committee, SPAAR Communications Team, NAREB, NAR, Realtors Association of Southern Minnesota, NAHREP, RMLS Board of Governors, AREAA, MLO – MN, and more.
- Our members and ambassadors receive At Home with Diversity (AHWD) training and other certifications to advance knowledge, understanding and advocacy in our communities.
- Jamar Hardy, Edina Realty Director of Diversity and Inclusion, was named 2022 Realtor of the Year by the Minneapolis Area Realtors.
